The HP Slate 12 Pro and Slate 8 Pro are Android tablets that come with the HP Duet Pen stylus.

Although HP has not released an official statement, the company is prepared to launch a couple of Android tablets targeted at the business sector, including one model with a notably large display.

The first model is named the HP Slate 12 Pro, featuring an impressive 12.3-inch screen, which is an uncommon size for Android devices. The screen boasts a resolution of 1600 x 1200 pixels.

Accompanying this launch is a 7.7-inch model known as the HP Slate Pro 8, which boasts a significantly higher screen resolution of 2048 x 1536 pixels.

There might be some confusion regarding the name of the second model, as HP already has a tablet on the market called the HP Slate 8 Pro, which is different from the new model being introduced.

Both models are designed for the business sector but are appealing to a broader audience. They are equipped with a Qualcomm Snapdragon 801 chipset and 2GB of RAM.

A noteworthy feature of these tablets is the inclusion of the HP Duet Pen, a stylus. While the specific technology behind it is not confirmed, it is speculated to be Qualcomm’s new ultrasound system.

This technology, known as the Snapdragon Digital Stylus Pen, was showcased at a recent trade fair. It allows for interaction without direct contact with the screen, working even when the stylus is on a different surface.

Other common features include the Android 4.4 KitKat operating system with slight customizations by HP, front stereo speakers, and comprehensive connectivity options: 802.11ac WiFi, Bluetooth 4.0, NFC, GPS, LTE, HDMI, and SlimPort.

One of the main differences between the models is storage capacity: the larger model comes with 32GB, while the smaller model has 16GB, both of which can be expanded with microSD cards.

Both tablets are equipped with two cameras: a 2-megapixel front camera on both models, and rear cameras with 8 megapixels on the Slate 12 Pro and 7 megapixels on the Slate 8 Pro. Additionally, the screens are protected with Corning Concore glass, as mentioned on the website.
